A Canadian man has been found not guilty by reason of insanity in the murder of a Scottish man who he thought was a zombie.
Tianhui Zhan, 19, stabbed Michael Davis, a 21-year-old cleaner in Glasgow because Zhan thought that Davis was a zombie, the BBC reported.
"This all happened in a few minutes of madness," said presiding judge Michael O'Grady.
"The deceased Mr. Davis was a hard-working man who had his life snatched away from him and another very sick young man is likely to spend his life behind the walls of a secure unit.
"There are no winners in this case. Sadly there are some things in life that just can't be fixed," he added.
Zhan has a history of mental illness and the trial heard that he was often off his medication. The trial also heard that Zhan heard voices and thought that he saw blood on people's faces.
Zhan was later caught in Amsterdam after he was trying to return to Toronto.
