Niagara Falls Tourist Death: Woman's Body Found, Unidentified
New York State Parks Police say the body of a woman has been recovered from the Niagara River below Niagara Falls.
A statement says police were called after a Cave of the Winds employee spotted a body in the river near the attraction on Thursday morning.
A police spokeswoman says the body has been sent for autopsy and identification, but investigators don't yet know if it's that of a Japanese student who was swept over the waterfall.
The woman who went over the falls last Sunday after stepping over a guardrail has been identified by classmates at the Hansa Language Centre in Toronto as Ayano Tokumasu.
Earlier Thursday, authorities said they'd identified the body of a man found while they searched for the Japanese student.
Dental records revealed the body was that of a missing man from Hamilton and police say foul play is not suspected in his death.
