Toronto roads closed by 3 weekend events

Three special events will close roads to drivers this weekend, the city says.

Taste of the Kingsway will close Bloor Street West from Prince Edward Drive North to Montgomery Road from Saturday, at 6 a.m. to Sunday midnight. Other roads in the area will be fully or partly closed to accommodate the event.

The Chinatown Festival will close northbound lanes of Spadina Avenue between College and Dundas streets Saturday from 7 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Cabbagetown Festival will close Parliament Street from Gerrard to Wellesley streets in both directions on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Parliament from Carlton to Wellesley streets on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Businesses in the affected areas are open to pedestrian traffic.

The city said festivals and other special events bring hundreds of millions of dollars annually into Toronto’s economy, as well as being enjoyed by residents.
