Jamaican Usain Bolt led a Jamaican sweep en route to a win in the men’s 100-metre final, running a season-best time of 9.76 seconds during the Diamond League finale Friday in Brussels.
The world-recorder holder in both the 100 and 200 metres bested the time of 9.78 by compatriot Asafa Powell at the Diamond League in Lausanne in June.
“I am really looking forward to this,” the 25-year-old told reporters prior to Friday’s event. “I really want this world year best and I feel good. I think I have it in me to run the fastest time of the year.”
