More than 500 dogs have been seized from a puppy mill in southwestern Quebec.
A spokesman for the Quebec government says it's the largest such seizure in the province's history.
Guy Auclair says the dogs weren't given enough food and water and were kept in poor conditions.
He says the dogs are different breeds and ages, and many are suffering from skin and respiratory problems.
The dogs are now receiving treatment under the care of the Humane Society.
Auclair says the investigation is ongoing and charges could be laid against the owners of the puppy mill.
