'Road Trip' star D.J. Qualls, who currently stars as a police officer on the TNT series 'Memphis Beat,' tweeted on Saturday morning that he was beaten by police in Vancouver, Canada "for no reason." The actor claimed he witnessed a fight and tried to identify the attacker to police, who then tackled and cuffed him. "Just got out of the ER," he tweeted, adding he got stitches after a police officer "busted his face."

Sad isn't it? Believe it or not I remember the days - when the police in Montreal & on the South Shore - were considered friends who had your best interests at heart and were trusted almost beyond measure. These days I wonder if any municipality is able to make that claim. What are they teaching our 'protectors' these days; anyone know - re ethics - etc..?

I don't think so. When adrenaline gets running, you can do a lot and not even think about it. Police are always running on adrenaline when they have to deal with issues. It's a rough job.
