Police are investigating after a suspicious fire broke out at a landscaping business Monday morning in Repentigny, northeast of Montreal.

Firefighters were called to Gazon Rive-Nord on Hétu Street around 1 a.m.

Around 30 firefighters battled the flames for more than two hours.

The first police officer at the scene found the door smashed in, according to Repentigny police.

Firefighters later determined the fire had been set in the cabin of a tractor in the garage.

Police said the owner of the buisness had received several threats over the past few weeks.

Smoke caused major damage to the contents of the building, but the structure remains intact.
