MONTREAL - Montreal police are trying to figure out if bones discovered during a renovation project are those of a family pet or a crime victim.

Const. Danny Richer says investigators can't immediately tell if the bones are animal or human.

Experts from the coroner's office and the provincial crime lab have been called in to help.

Construction workers digging in the back of a private residence in the city's Rosemont district found the bones late this morning and called police.

Police are doing further digs to determine if there are more bones on the property.

The picture on the front page and the story don't even remotely match. Go ahead and use stock photography but at least try and find a construction shot that is the same type of construction as in the story.

It's an article that might end up being about a buried dog so I don't think they put much emphasis on it.

Then again, it might be something much worse.
