For a few minutes in each timezone in this land, citizens and veterans come to a pause to reflect on Remembrance Day.
In Kandahar, Canadian troops, loved ones of those lost and Defence Minister Peter MacKay marked a solemn last Remembrance Day as the decade-long mission ends.

"It is obviously very poignant, it's a very solemn feeling knowing that with each name, it's piercing the heart of a family to have lost a loved one here," MacKay later told reporters.
