Stephen Harper Colouring Book: Dave Rosen Spoofs PM In Work Endorsed By Brian Topp

Colouring Book Pokes Fun At Harper

The Prime Minister isn't exactly known for his sense of humour, but Stephen Harper provided artist Dave Rosen with plenty of comedic ammunition for his "The Stephen Harper Colouring and Activity Book."

The book satirizes the Prime Minister and his cabinet in a play on a format familiar to anyone who fell in love with crayons as a child.

While the book takes its format from colouring books, it's far from childish in its subject matter. Rosen takes on the G8 spending scandal, Tory party unity and looming budget cuts, as well as spoofing a cast of prominent Canadians that includes Peter Mansbridge, Don Cherry, Rob Ford, Elizabeth May and Justin Trudeau.

The book has even attracted an endorsement from NDP leadership front-runner Brian Topp, who wrote the book's forward. "Rosen is an artist who stands on his own, his rapier wit laying waste to those of us in politics," writes Topp.

The NDP doesn't get a pass though. One of the book's funniest cartoons depicts an NDP MP attempting to find her riding within an elaborate maze.

Rosen is the editorial cartoonist for the Montreal Mirror and is also the author of "Quebec Neverendum Colouring & Activity Book." You can see some of the pictures from the book in the slideshow below.
