Quick Study [kwik stuhd-ee]: The Huffington Post Canada's tips to make your life a little sweeter, five minutes at a time. Think of it as a cheatsheet for your general well-being.

For the next 30 days, we're checking out how to take a break from your busy holiday schedule and relax -- in unexpected ways.

THE EXPERT:

The Huffington Post Canada talked to dating coach Christine Hart on how showing a little love this holiday season can go a long way.

What can we do at this time of year that will help relieve stress?

Take five minutes to make a list of people in your life who you'd like to show appreciation for, or express acknowledgement to. We often walk around feeling underappreciated -- especially around the holidays. It's like feeling dehydrated, and simple but direct appreciation is all we need.

Be the person who goes out of their way to send an email, a card or make a call to someone -- simply because they have made a difference in your life this year. Be the person who takes the host aside and says "I just want to say I can tell this party took a lot of work and you did an awesome job." Don't just think it, say it in your outside voice and make another person's day. Guess what, it will make you feel better too.

For example: "One good thing today is that in two days we get to go to Chico to see Grammy and Grampa Snuggles and our cousins!" They are counting their blessings. Read the rest of the post here.
