Year In Review 2011: Ron James Takes On Stephen Harper And The Collapse Of The Liberals (VIDEO)

WATCH: Ron James Takes On Stephen Harper

Now that the first sitting of the House of Commons under a Tory majority is over, comedian Ron James is looking back at the campaign in a comedic light.

"The Liberals crumbled faster than a vegan cupcake," says James, joking that old people may not get it since they're "still clubbing their own veal calf, just like the old days."

James then takes his comedy club to Stephen Harper's heavily publicized refusal to take more than five questions per day from reporters on the campaign trail.

"He was like the guru on the mountain top, limiting the media to just five questions.

'Remember, I only have time for five questions.'

'Only five?'

'That counts as a question. Four more.' "

James does credit Harper for warming up his image by performing on keyboards at a Tory party. Because if anyone can play the Mississippi blues it has got to be a "button-down, helmet-haired white guy from Leaside."

The Ron James Show airs weekly on CBC TV, Friday nights at 8 p.m. ET. His New Year’s Eve Special airs Jan. 1, 2012 at 9 p.m. He’s also on Facebook and Twitter.
