Lachine church shuts its doors

A church in Montreal's Lachine neighbourhood that has served the community for nearly 200 years has shut its doors for good.

More than 150 people attended the final service at St. Andrew's United Church Sunday, although the congregation had been reduced to only 22 members.

The minister, Jeff Barlow, said the congregation couldn't keep up with the cost of repairs.

At the end of Sunday's service, Barlow handed the keys over to the Montreal Presbytery.
