A woman believed to be in her twenties was hit and killed by a short school bus at the intersection of Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue on Wednesday morning.
Witnesses told CBC News the victim was crossing Driftwood Avenue from west to east just after 7 a.m. The bus was making a left turn off Driftwood Avenue south onto Jane Street.
Police say there were no children on the bus.
A witness described what happened to CBC News.
“[The driver] didn’t see the girl come right over the curb lane, run over that kid twice, both with the front wheel and the back wheel," he said.
Police have closed Jane Street between Shoreham Drive and Stong Court while they investigate.
