Woman killed in Lévis crash

A woman is dead after a head-on collision with a transport truck in Lévis.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. Friday morning in the east end of the city.

A car crossed into the oncoming traffic and collided with the truck, according to Lévis police.

The woman driving the car was thrown from the vehicle, which ended up lodged beneath the truck.

Officials were initally unsure if anyone else was in the car at the time of the crash.

But crews successfully removed the car from beneath the truck and said the vehicle was empty.

The driver of the truck was treated for shock but was otherwise unharmed.

The cause of the crash is not yet known, but it was snowing at the time of the crash.
