VANCOUVER - Vancouver police have laid more charges in connection with the riots that rocked the city after the Stanley Cup final last June.

Police say a 17-year-old boy from the lower mainland of British Columbia has been charged with taking part in a riot and three counts of arson.

His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say they have been able to lay charges against 28 people believed to have looted cars and buildings in the city's downtown core after the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup on June 15.

Police say they are recommending that dozens of others face charges for their alleged roles in the riots.

Insp. Les Yeo says more arrests and charges are expected in early 2012.
