The Grey Cup champion B.C. Lions have been named The Canadian Press team of the year for 2011. A look at the Lions:

Record: 11-7, first place in CFL's West Division.

Head coach: Wally Buono.

Accomplishments: B.C. became the first team in CFL history to win the Grey Cup after losing its first five games. The Lions capped their amazing comeback season by beating Winnipeg 34-23 in the Grey Cup at B.C. Place.

In conclusion: Following B.C.'s win, Buono left the sidelines to concentrate full time on his GM duties. Buono leaves as the CFL's winningest coach with 254 regular-season wins and a record-tying five Grey Cups. Defensive co-ordinator Mike Benevides takes over coaching duties.
