Home invasion suspects dressed as police

Two men are facing a long list of charges after a bizarre home invasion in Barrie on Thursday night.

Police say two men pretending to be plainclothes officers forced their way into an apartment on Sawmill Road.

It's alleged the men handcuffed one of the people inside before taking a safe from the apartment.

The suspects then made their getaway in a taxi cab.

Police say officers managed to catch up with the taxi a short time later on Highway 400 in Toronto.

A 34-year-old Toronto man and a 30-year-old Beeton man face multiple charges in the incident including robbery, forcible confinement and impersonating a police officer.
