A chronic offender who was the subject of a police warning last month was arrested over the weekend and is facing new charges.

Vancouver police were called on Dec. 31 by a woman alleging she had been assaulted and threatened earlier that morning.

Tracy Lloyd Caza, 51, was later arrested and charged with one count each of assault, sexual assault and uttering threats.

Caza was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6.

Caza was the subject of a Vancouver police public warning on Dec. 9 after his release from custody.

He made headlines in 2008 after he was charged with stealing jewelery from a 91-year-old woman in hospital, and breaking into the home of an 83-year-old woman in southeast Vancouver.

Police say he has 78 criminal convictions dating back 20 years for a variety of offences including assault causing bodily harm, robbery, fraud, theft and escape lawful custody.
