TIMMINS, Ont. - Some sharp-eyed hotel workers in North Bay, Ont., are being credited with helping police safely locate two missing children.

An Amber Alert was issued this morning for three-year-old Aiden Johnson and one-year-old Kara Johnson after they were not returned to their grandmother's house in Timmins.

Police say the children's father, Zachary Johnson, 34, of Timmins, is in custody and charges could be laid.

Police say they found Johnson east of North Bay after hotel staff in the northern Ontario city spotted him and the children leaving the hotel.

Sgt. Darren Dinel of Timmins police says the hotel workers recognized the children from a photo in a newspaper.

He says the workers quickly notified police in North Bay and gave them details about the vehicle the three were seen leaving in.
