A suspect in a string of drug store robberies was tackled by a member of the public after a pharmacy was held up in Okotoks, Alta.
The 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with several robberies in southern Alberta towns since last March.
A man armed with a knife held up the Sobey's pharmacy in Okotoks on Tuesday and received a quantity of drugs.
As he was fleeing the store, a customer tackled the man and restrained him with help from store employees until police arrived.
The man is accused of 16 offences including five counts of armed robbery at stores in Okotoks, High River, Strathmore and Drayton Valley.
Police thanked the customer who intervened but said it was a potentially dangerous action.
The accused is set to make his first court appearance in Okotoks on Jan. 10.
