Suspicious Prince George house fire sends 1 to hospital

One person is in hospital and another in police custody after a suspicious fire at a home in Prince George, B.C.

Emergency crews were called to a fire at a home on Merritt Road at about 3 a.m. PT Saturday.

Police say an 85-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. with serious injuries.

A 49-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.

The fire is believed to be suspicious, but the cause has not been determined.

The Prince George RCMP's Serious Crime Unit is investigating.
