Elderly man injured in Prince George house fire dies

An 85-year-old man injured in a house fire in Prince George, B.C., has died of his injuries.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a fire at a home on Merritt Road early Saturday morning.

Frank William Marion, a 49-year-old tenant at the home, has been charged with arson. Investigators say they will recommend further charges as a result of the elderly man's death.

Marion "has a significant history with police," according to an RCMP statement.

The Prince George RCMP's Serious Crime Unit is investigating.
