A train collided with a van near the intersection of Archibald Street and Fermor Avenue in Winnipeg on Monday.
It happened just after 6:30 a.m. and forced emergency crews to close a section of Fermor Avenue (Trans-Canada Highway) to traffic in both directions.
A man was extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital with unstable injuries.
The train remained backed up some distance on the track through the morning rush hour, causing problems at other rail crossings.
It finally began moving again just before 9 a.m.
