A man in his twenties has been arrested and police are searching for another suspect after the theft of several bank cards and possible confinement of three victims.

Police were called to an ATM on Ontario St. near Du Havre St. in Montreal's east end about a possible bank card fraud at 12:45 a.m Tuesday. They were called by an ATM monitoring surveillance system that notifies police when a card is used more than once in a short period of time.

Once on the scene, officers chased the suspect using the bank machine. The man ran toward a car holding three victims in the back seat, one of whom had bruises on his face.

"Those three young men informed the police officer that they had been hijacked earlier during the night," Const. Daniel Fortier said.

A second man, who police believe could have been watching the victims in the car, got away.

Police also found ammunition in the car.

Investigators are questioning the suspect and the three victims.
