Police have arrested a third Hobbema youth in last summer's shooting death of Ethan Yellowbird, 5.
At 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, RCMP and members of the Edmonton Police Service tactical unit arrested the youth at an apartment building in northwest Edmonton.
The three young offenders, who are currently in custody at the Wetaskiwin RCMP detachment, are charged with manslaughter, intentional discharge of a firearm and endangering life. The males, all from Hobbema, are aged 14, 17, 18. At the time of the shooting, they were 13, 16 and 17.
Yellowbird was shot in the head while sleeping in his father's house on the Samson Cree Reserve when it was sprayed with gunfire from a passing vehicle at 3:30 a.m. on July 11.
