TORONTO - Toronto's mayor often deals with some weighty matters but this one is personal.

Rob Ford and his brother, Coun. Doug Ford, have announced plans for a city-wide weight-loss challenge.

The mayor has spoken previously about his desire to lose weight and get healthy -- but he also admits to a fondness for ice cream and other treats.

The brothers say they will kick off their diets next week.

They plan to hold a weigh-in and challenge others in Canada's most populous city to join them in their efforts to get in shape.

All money raised will be going to charity.
