Jets Byfuglien going to NHL All-Star Game

Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien is headed to the NHL All-Star Game.

The team announced on Thursday that the big man has earned a spot in the 2012 contest on Jan. 29 at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.

Byfuglien, 26, will make his second straight all-star appearance.

He currently leads Jets defencemen in points with 24 (6 goals, 18 assist) in 35 games.

Byfuglien has missed the past seven games with what the team has labeled a "lower body injury."
