A Quebec South Shore man has been killed in what police call a battle over land rights.
Richelieu Saint-Laurent police say a Verchères man killed his 78-year-old neighbour.
The suspect, a man in his 60s then allegedly made his way to Verchères city hall.
That's where police say he stabbed the city's general manager and his assistant.
The two are being treated for cuts to the head.
The suspect has been arrested and remains in hospital.
Police say he was known at city hall for waging a battle over land rights for years.
