Bob Rae: Attack Ad From National Citizens Coalition Rips Off 'Inception' Theme

BRAMMM! Attack Ad Aimed At Rae Rips Off 'Inception'

It seems "Inception" director Christopher Nolan has managed to infect the collective consciousness with the idea that the music from his film should now appear in everything.

The ad, which savages Rae for his actions as premier of Ontario from 1990 to 1995, liberally borrows elements from the 'Inception' theme.

NCC director Stephen Taylor pointed out to HuffPost that the music is not identical to the theme from the film. The song in the ad is actually Daft Punk''s "Recognizer" from the soundtrack for the movie "Tron," one of the first films to pick up on the "Inception" sound.

Daft Punk have not been alone in ripping off the now infamous BRAMMM!

New York magazine has done an expose on just how widely Hollywood has adopted Nolan's BRAMMM! as its own. "Super Eight," "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "Battle Los Angeles," "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Prometheus," "The Avengers," "Battleship," "Puss In Boots," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" -- the list goes on and on.

The NCC,meanwhile, was most recently in the news for unexpected criticism of the Conservatives. The group took issue with a government program which sends senior bureaucrats on pricey leadership training trip around the globe. Prime Minister Stephen Harper was president of the NCC before becoming leader of the Canadian Alliance.

If only they could find time to do a comprehensive audit of the music in their ads.
