Ontario man dies in Antigonish crash

An Ontario man died in a motor vehicle crash in Nova Scotia Thursday.

RCMP say the man's tractor trailer crashed at 3:20 p.m. on Highway 104 near Heatherton, Antigonish County.

The truck was heading west when it lost control and went into the ditch, RCMP say. The driver, 65-year-old James McLean, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was from Binbrook, Ont.

RCMP say the area saw light flurries at the time, but the roads were bare and visibility was good.

The stretch of highway was closed for most of the remainder of the day as crews removed the truck.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
