Style Tips From A Bachelorette

Style Tips From A Bachelorette

Jillian Harris may still be looking for love, but our favourite Bachelorette sure looks good doing it. With a hectic travel schedule and a new gig as the host for Canada's Handyman Challenge, this fellow Canuck dishes on her can't-live-without wardrobe staples and the best outfit to wear on a first date.

What's your style philosophy?

You should design, cook and dress like your personality. If you wake up feeling flirty show it! My only rule? Stick to one focal point. If you're going to show a little cleavage, stay conservative on the bottom. Sexy is a feeling you give off -- not a skirt that's too short.

What's an ideal first date outfit?

For a first date, I like a skinny coloured jean that shows off a playful side with a blousy feminine top. Go with a pair of heels to add a little sex appeal but keep the jewelry and make-up simple. I always think the colour baby yellow makes guys think "good wife" but it clearly hasn't worked for me yet!

What are you wardrobe essentials?

- Long denim or plaid shirts

- Leggings

- Frye boots

- Navajo-inspired belts

- Layered bracelets

Where are your favourite places to shop in Canada?

I love Aritzia as well as Canadian designer Nicole Bridger.
