Police seek group who dropped off shooting victim

Toronto police are asking the people who dropped off a man suffering from gunshot wounds at Scarborough Hospital to come forward.

Police have identified the man, who later died, as 23-year-old Anthony Spencer.

Police say the man was dropped off by two men and one woman at about 5 a.m.

The people spoke briefly with hospital staff, helped Spencer onto a gurney, but left before police arrived. Spencer died shortly afterward.

Police said they need the group to come forward so they can find out how and where Spencer was shot.

If the individuals do not come forward, police say they will release security video footage of them.

Earlier Saturday police were searching the area around Bellamy Road and Lawrence Avenue. Police are also looking for two vehicles: a four-door grey Nissan Altima and an older-model beige or gold four-door sedan.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
