ADQ votes for CAQ merger

Members of the Action démocratique du Québec have voted to merge their party into the new Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ).

ADQ members voted 70.5 per cent in favour of the merger, via mail-in ballots earlier this January.

Results of the vote were released Sunday morning.

Just over 50 per cent of registered ADQ party members voted, out of the 2521 who were eligible.

The membership vote ratifies the proposed merger, which was already approved by all four sitting ADQ MNAs and the party's executive committee.
