Man dead after Georgetown fire

A man is dead after a blaze broke out at his Georgetown home, about an hour west of Toronto.

Firefighters were called to the scene on the Eighth Line near Wildwood Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday.

A neighbour indicated that someone was likely inside the home.

The blaze was knocked down about 45 minutes after firefighters arrived.

The Office of the Fire Marshal is now investigating the cause of the fire.

A coroner will do an autopsy to determine the cause of the man’s death.

Halton Police say the fire is not suspicious.
