BC Ferries moves backlog from windstorm

BC Ferries has added two extra sailings to the Swartz Bay-Tsawwassen route on Monday morning to help clear the backlog following Sunday's windstorm.

High winds forced the cancellation of more than two dozen ferry sailings on Sunday. Early Monday morning there were one and two sailing waits on the main routes between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland as people tried to get home after the weekend.

The storm also knocked out power to thousands of BC Hydro Customers, and about 10,500 customers on Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and the Fraser Valley remained without power at 6:30 a.m. PT Monday.
