TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,553.48, up 35.82 points):

Gold-Ore Resources Ltd. (TSX:GOZ). Miner. Up 19 cents, or 25.33 per cent, at 94 cents on 9,275,835 shares.

SemBioSys Genetics Inc. (TSX:SBS). Life sciences. Up six cents, or 120 per cent, at 11 cents on 8,590,279 shares.

Bank of Nova Scotia (TSX:BNS). Chartered bank. Down 46 cents, or 0.89 per cent, at $51.38 on 7,894,864 shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up eight cents, or 0.71 per cent, at $11.33 on 6,979,939 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Unchanged at $4.72 on 6,704,839 shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Down 26 cents, or 0.75 per cent, at $34.25 on 4,255,556 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,660.57, up 23.26 points):

Calibre Mining Corp. (TSX:CXB). Miner. Down four cents, or 6.78 per cent, at 55 cents on 11,956,600 shares.

Encanto Potash Corp. (TSX:EPO). Potash exploration. Unchanged at 26 cents, or 6,537,201 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Imperial Metals Corp. (TSX:III). Up 74 cents, or 4.56 per cent, at $16.98 on 599,430 shares. The metals explorer has increased the resource estimates its Red Chris copper-gold deposit in northwestern British Columbia. The company said Thursday the tonnage estimate is up 103 per cent to 1.26 billion tonnes from 617 million tonnes, and now includes assay results from drilling completed since a resource update in May 2010.

Canadian Pacific (TSX:CP). Railway. Up seven cents, or 0.10 per cent, at $71.84 on 407,392 shares. The company has begun to move crude oil from a new terminal near Lloydminster, Sask., as part of the railway's plans to expand services for the energy sector. The strategy comes at a time when CP is under shareholder pressure to improve operational performance.
