Police looking for victims after child porn arrest

Montreal police are looking for potential victims of a man accused of possessing child pornography.

Police arrested 65-year-old Maurice Piperno on Jan. 12 after receiving tips from the public.

Investigators with the police child sexual exploitation division searched his Rosemont district home and found images of child pornography in his possession, according to police. Piperno was later charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, as well as accessing child porn.

Montreal police spokesperson Raphael Bergeron said investigators are worried that Piperno might have had contact with children in neighbourhood parks.

"He could have also committed the act of touching those young people, so basically we're looking for possible victims," said Bergeron.

Police are asking anyone with information on this to call 9-1-1.
