Big brother is watching...and making sure we watch canadian content whether we want to or not! I pay for cable TV with multiple US channels because I prefer to watch US shows, US commercials and US news - & during the Super Bowl, US commercials! Instead the TV I see is hijacked by canadian networks where the TV shows are interrupted mid-sentence because canadian networks insert more commercial time & disrupt TV shows, previews of upcoming shows are cut and commercials are lame!

Wow, I didn't realize that you didn't get to see all of the Super Bowl ads up there. I know about the Canadian content law, but didn't realize that it extended to Super Bowl ads.

Hit and miss on being able to see the commercials in the past few years but this year we saw them in Alberta on NBC during the game.

You know what really pisses me off.....how I was subscribing to Huffpost long before Canada decided to jump onto their bandwagon...so now when I click on my Huffpost link I get the Canadian page and then have to link into the US one...what's up with that...they HIJACKED my Huffpost to show Canadian content first!!! There's too much of that crap in this country. The CRTC decides what we watch, when we watch it....If I'm watching a program on a US station I should be seeing US commercials...not have the end of my US program cut off so that Roger's can throw in as many Canadian commericials for their services as much as possible. If Canadian service providers want us to watch Canadian content how about making it worthwhile watching? As long as we have crap like "Little Mosque......." and Heartland and This new Artic Air...good grief my high school drama club could have done better.

Agreed. The Canadian content rules are too stupid.
10:05 AM on 02/06/2012
Don't these rules remind you of what "socialism" is like? Medicine & TV are controlled equally in Canada.

I guess they don't have any confidence in their own product, (when it comes to advertising)... since they assume that if given the choice, the viewer will choose something either not approved or available to the average Canadian, so it's up to "THEM" to make (as certain as possible) sure that you're only exposed to the "controlled" media.

I thought they were all pretty boring...the only one I liked at all was the Dorito's one...other than that ho hum.
10:07 AM on 02/06/2012
How `bout that Seinfeld (w/Leno) ad!!?
12:44 AM on 02/06/2012
Seen them all. The CRTC seem to forget there is something called the internet and YouTube. They can no longer control the information.
11:36 AM on 02/08/2012
are you seriously equating commercials to information?
