Motorists are urged to drive carefully on Wednesday evening, as Environment Canada warns freezing rain is expected in the Greater Toronto Area and much of south-central Ontario.
A low-pressure centre over Wisconsin is expected to track across the Great Lakes on Wednesday and weaken as it crosses southern Ontario on Thursday.
Much of southern Ontario is expected to be affected with freezing rain and drizzle overnight.
Temperatures will continue to rise overrnight.
The eastern portion of the province can expect a significant snowfall of five to 10 centimetres Wednesday night, followed by a possible five to 10 centimetres more Thursday.
