Seven people have been taken to hospital from Pearson International Airport after coming into contact with an unknown chemical.

The patients are complaining of throat, skin and eye irritation.

Peel fire and police are on scene.

There is currently no indication of what the chemical that affected the people is, but a Hazmat unit is on the scene investigating.

The seven people taken to Etobicoke General Hospital are employees from the airport.

More patients are being assessed at the airport.
