Construction equipment hangs mid-air off building

A section of downtown Montreal is open to traffic again, after a small Bobcat loader nearly fell off a 10-storey building Tuesday morning.

The loader was doing repair work on a building near the corner of Bleury and Mayer Streets when the accident happened.

It was stripping the building wall from the top down when it got stuck on the eighth floor.

The operator was able to escape unharmed, but it took several hours to get the loader down.

Firefighters used a cherry picker to bring the loader down.

Traffic was rerouted in the area.
