TORONTO - Two Peel police officers suffered minor injuries today during the arrest of an "aggressive" suspect that was tasered at Pearson airport.

Peel Police Const. Fiona Thivierge says the two officers and the man, 23, were taken to hospital after an incident at one of the airport's international security points.

She says airport security called police because the man was "acting very aggressively" and when the officers arrived he attacked one of them.

The man was tasered and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, as a precaution.

Thivierge says he will be charged with assaulting a police officer and is likely to face additional charges.

A third officer was injured but did not require hospitalization.

The gate where the incident took place, she adds, remained closed.
