Police make third arrest in Brampton poker slaying

Peel Regional Police have made a third arrest in connection with a homicide during an armed robbery at a poker tournament in Brampton, Ont., in 2011.

A 21-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear Tuesday in a Brampton courtroom.

Kearn Nedd, 28, was killed on April 16 last year when he attempted to help during the apprehension of one of two suspects during a poker tournament at Rozz Banquet Hall. It happened at 200 Advance Blvd. in front of 130 people, police say.

Police said in a news release that they expect further arrests in the case. They had previously charged a teenager with second-degree murder and a man in his 30s for being an accessory after the fact to murder.
