ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Kathy Dunderdale says pending cuts to the provincial public sector will be minimal over the next two years.

Dunderdale says the details will be outlined in next month's budget.

She does say the number of temporary and contract positions that will be affected will be far less than 800, which is a number that was suggested by the opposition parties earlier this week.

Dunderdale says the expected savings is expected to be less than $100-million.

She says the government will try to manage the growth of the public service through attrition into 2014.
