3rd person charged in Surrey shooting

Police say a third person has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Surrey, B.C., last month.

Richmond resident Fabian Lyde, 18, is charged with second-degree murder and weapons-related offences. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday.

Kacey Rogers, 31, was shot and killed in his home in the 14000 block of Grosvenor Road on Feb. 26.

Rogers was not known to police and is believed to be the victim of a targeted attack.

Russell Bidesi, 21, of Surrey, and Joshua Martinez, 19, of New Westminster, were charged last month with second-degree murder, robbery and firearms-related charges. Both are being held in police custody.

"The fact that three men have been arrested, charged and remain in custody, in only a matter of weeks, speaks to the dedication of all police jurisdictions involved," said Sgt. Jennifer Pound.

"When it comes to the selfish act of taking a life, police officers from everywhere feel a need to bring the killers to justice."
