The NDP convention in Toronto this weekend had more than it's fair share of comedic moments — a tragic rap performance, mangled speeches, an epic #votefail and some hilarious performances from "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" comedian Mark Critch.

One of the funniest moments came when Critch interrupted Peter Mansbridge's live broadcast from the convention floor to mock all seven candidates and suggest shots every time anyone mentioned Jack Layton.

Mansbridge's reaction? Priceless.

Critch was also there to pour Orange Crush for eventual victor Thomas Mulcair, even if the day turned out to be more of an "Orange Crash."

If his convention performance was any indication, Mulcair, and his beard, will likely provide viewers with plenty more comedic moments in the months to come.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes airs Tuesdays at 8:30 pm on CBC TV. Catch more clips of the show on Facebook and Twitter.

Unlike Harper's assistants, Peter recognizes the 22 Minutes cast.

Funny stuff. I understand Peter was running out of material due to the computer glitch generated delays.

The only two things CBC does well, are hockey and humour.

I like their documentaries and investigative reports. Marketplace is particularly great at showing how Canadians get screwed by businesses.

Nobody - nobody - can do hockey like the CBC. They wrote the book.

Yeah . . . but it wouldn't it look neat with a red comet tail following the puck? What? They tried that? lol
