What To Do During Earth Hour: What We Do In The Dark

Earth Hour: What Are The World's Favourite Things To Do In The Dark?

When the lights go off for Earth Hour on March 31 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., people all over the world will be showing their support for this climate change awareness initiative -- and then they'll be wondering what exactly to do with themselves without any electricity.

There are plenty of activities planned across the globe, in countries ranging from Madagascar to Belize to Australia, where it all began. But given a night full of darkness, what is it that you'd prefer to do with all that time?

Bjorn Borg, creators of glow-in-the-dark underwear (among other underthings), decided to ask more than 1700 people in nine countries about their "lights off" habits -- and to no one's surprise, sex topped the list of activities.

Spaniards were most likely to "get sexy with someone," while Swedes were found to be the least likely -- and from an environmental perspective (or romantic factor, depending on how you look at it), Spain won again for the country most likely to have sex with the lights on, while England came in last, with the U.S. not far behind.

But for the sake of attraction, we can all feel good that getting frisky beat out other activities like watching TV (#2), catching up on sleep (#3) and relaxing by the fireplace (#4).
