Justin Trudeau Cuts Patrick Brazeau's Hair After Boxing Match Loss (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

OTTAWA - Don't expect another Thrilla on the Hilla.

The pugilistic progeny of a past prime minister has ruled out another go-round with a tough-talking Tory senator.

"I'm a parliamentarian, not a boxer," Liberal MP Justin Trudeau said Monday.

"I was glad to do it, glad to raise as much money as we did, but I will not be in any boxing matches any more. I've got work to do."

Underdog Trudeau beat odds-on favourite Patrick Brazeau in a charity boxing match Saturday night when the referee stopped the fight.

Most expected the younger, stronger Conservative senator to clean Trudeau's clock. Instead it was the MP from Montreal who bloodied Brazeau's nose en route to an upset victory.

"I did the rookie-boxer mistake in coming out like a raging bull," Brazeau said.

"I thought I had him for awhile there. I thought I was gonna knock him out. But he got out, and he was able to catch his breath after the first round and unfortunately I wasn't."

The parliamentary punch-out raised $230,000 for cancer research. But there was something more on the line: hair and pride.

The loser of the bout agreed to have his hair cut for the cameras on Parliament Hill.

Since Brazeau lost the fight, his ponytail had to go. Stylist Stefania Capovilla says she cut off eight or nine inches of the senator's long locks.

He's now sporting a much shorter hairdo and a shiner under his right eye.

But Brazeau says what is going to sting most is fulfilling the second part of the bet. He has to wear a Liberal-red hockey jersey with Trudeau's name on the back for the rest of the week.

Looking at the before and after, Trudeau did him a favour by beating him in the ring.

The most delicious part of this whole episode is knowing that the Fox news wannabbes at Sun tv, i.e. Coren, Lilley Levant et al are wiping egg off their faces. Their misguided political and social viewpoints turn out to be as obviously misguided as their choice of boxer Brazeau to win. Suck it up right wingers!!

If we are going to acknowledge that political gravitas and charisma are now gained in the boxing ring, rather than the arena of ideas, let's get serious about it. Mulcaiir-Harper-Rae in a winner-take-all cage match. Seats in House of Commons apportioned by how long each leader lasts.

All elections should be decided by cage match. No more whining sissies in government.

Since the charity is for cancer, will the hair be used for wigs?
It looks a bit greasy, though...

I hope so... there's always hope with a little water and soap! :)

The only winner here is the Canadian Cancer Society, to the tune of $230,000 and greater visibility of the destruction that reeks havoc in peoples' lives, Brazeau, his mother and Trudeau, his father.

As a cancer patient, their support services have been wonderful and as much needed as their research initiatives.

It is wonderful that these two parliamentarians could use their visibile positions as a novel means for raising money for charity. Each of them is a hero, in my eyes, for just stepping into the ring because cancer patients face a lot more than just 3 rounds of physical pummeling.
