Time for them to re-focus on enterprise computing... where they should have always been focused in the first place. In their foolish attempt to listen to idiots on the internet who were telling them to "be more like Apple", they've ignored their core customer base trying to get their core customer base's kids to want a Blackberry.

agree, cannot beat Apple in their core business as MS & others have found out the hard way. I think the VP's got arrogant , compliment, and out of touch with their core customer base and it cost them

The problem isn't trying to "beat Apple at their core business". The fact is, Apple can't beat RIM at THEIR core business, and that's what RIM needs to focus on.

I've spoken with hundreds of people who went with iPhone for a while then switched back to Blackberry. BB is a great platform for business, and it's back-end tech is superior than everyone else (I've often said MS should buy RIM just to get it's hands on BES).

The problem is RIM's executives stopped focusing on what they do best, and listened to all those fools on the internet saying "Blackberry needs to be more like iPhone!!"... even though the customers they "lost" to iPhone were eventually coming back to them.

So yeah, they did make their devices more like iPhone: buggy, hard to use, poorly designed, etc.

Oh please. Anyone can beat Apple at their supposed core. Apple's strength is in its marketing, nothing else. They've already been beaten as far as software and hardware go. And, Microsoft beat them once before. It all comes down to the marketing aspect. My degree is in marketing management, specifically creative advertising. Get me on the RIM boardroom and I could come up with a multilayer approach to easily crush Apple. It's all in how you're reaching the consumer. Apple doesn't do anything that any other company couldn't mimic and surpass. Blackberry isn't marketing itself to the masses or to enterprise properly.

BB's core customer base is leaving them in droves because they want real smartphones! BB is a smartphone that was home schooled.

Proving you don't know what you're talking about.

Taking advice from morons is what got BB into the mess they're currently in.

Toys are for children. BB's execs are getting thrown out for taking adivce from children.
